Motor Operator Exchange Instructions

This process is to be used when a dealer needs to exchange an operator due to voltage, phase or horsepower.

If the motor operator shipped with a full door:

1. Create a Service Quote for new operator using the same pricing as the door order. If the operator pricing is

unavailable (buried within the door price), reduce the price so that the contribution margin is identical to the

original door order.

2. Dealer must submit a purchase order for the exchange.

3. Create an RMA for the motor operator being returned. Please use Returns, Motors, Wrong motor for the CRM

ticket and RMA Type: Return to Stock

a. Please note, Dealer will pay freight

b. Please notify Dealer of 25% restocking fee and potential credit amount to be given.

c. Upon return and inspection, the ORIGINAL DOOR ORDER will be credited for the amount calculated.

This amount should be the original motor price minus 25%.

d. If motor is not returned, credit is not given.

e. If motor is evaluated and found to be open/installed: Dealer will be notified and provided with option

to have motor reshipped (at the dealer’s expense) or motor will be scrapped and no credit will be given.

If motor operator shipped on a SERVICE order originally:

1. Create a Service Quote for new operator using the same contribution as the SERVICE order. (While operators

shipped with doors are not priced differently for voltage/phase, service orders are. This means that the pricing a

dealer will pay for the exchange may be higher or lower than the original.

2. Dealer must submit a purchase order for the exchange.

3. Create an RMA for the motor operator being returned. Please use Returns, Motors, Wrong motor for the CRM

ticket and RMA Type: Return to Stock

a. Please note, Dealer will pay freight

b. Please notify Dealer of 25% restocking fee and potential credit amount to be given.

c. Upon return and inspection, the ORIGINAL SERVICE ORDER will be credited for the amount calculated.

This amount should be the original motor price minus 25%.

d. If motor is not returned, credit is not given.

e. If motor is evaluated and found to be open/installed: Dealer will be notified and provided with option to

have motor reshipped (at the dealer’s expense) or motor will be scrapped and no credit will be given.

*we understand and realize that there may be times when dealers take advantage of or use this process

on a recurring basis. We reserve the right to discontinue this process under those circumstances and

charge the dealer full service pricing for the motors*

*no labor will be paid for motor exchanges unless we (CornellCookson) made the mistake. These

charges must be discussed prior to any work being done and recorded in CRM*
